Cookie Policy

This is an English translation of the Greek text. If the two differ, the Greek text prevails.

1. Purpose and scope

This Cookie Policy describes the use of cookies and similar technologies when visiting and using the AgroVino online platform.

Cookies are small data files stored on the user’s device when they visit a website. Depending on their function, they may be used for the technical operation of the website, to store the user’s choices or to collect information about how it is used.

For the purposes of this Policy, “similar” or “related technologies” means in particular mechanisms for storing information locally on the user’s device, such as localStorage and sessionStorage. The AgroVino platform mainly uses such technologies to support its functions, while cookies in the strict technical sense are used to remember the language the user has chosen (agrovino_lang) and by the Google Analytics service, the latter only if the user has consented to it first.

AgroVino uses cookies and similar technologies only to the extent necessary for the platform to work or, for optional technologies, only once the user has given the required consent.

This Cookie Policy supplements AgroVino’s Privacy Policy, which gives more detailed information about the processing of personal data and users’ rights.

2. Categories of cookies and similar technologies

Depending on the purpose for which they are used, the cookies and similar technologies that may be used on the platform fall into the following categories:

a) Strictly necessary cookies and technologies: used for functions that are needed for the platform to work correctly and securely and to provide the services the user asks for, such as, where relevant, keeping the user signed in to an account, the security of the platform and storing the user’s cookie choices. These technologies are used without prior consent, to the extent that they are strictly necessary to provide the service or function the user has asked for. For these purposes AgroVino uses in particular localStorage and sessionStorage, in which the following information is stored:

  • agrovino_cookie_consent: stores the user’s choice about optional cookies and related technologies, together with the time it was made, so that the platform applies that choice on later visits.
  • agrovino_lang: stores the user’s choice of display language. When the user changes the language from the menu, the choice is also stored in a cookie of the same name, so that the platform opens in that language from the first page of their next visit.
  • agrovino_beta_banner_dismissed_v2: stores that the user has closed the information banner.
  • agrovino-chunk-reload: used as a technical reload marker within the session, for the platform to work correctly.
  • agrovino.booking.token: used so that a user without an account can manage their booking through the link sent to their email address.
  • agrovino.checkout.return: used briefly when the user returns from the payment page, so that their booking confirmation can be shown. It is deleted once the confirmation is shown, or when the browser tab is closed.
  • sb-[…]-auth-token: used through the Supabase service to keep users who have an account on the platform signed in.
  • agrovino_host_name, agrovino_customer_name: used to show the signed-in user’s name in the platform’s menu.
  • agrovino_pending_signup_name, agrovino_pending_signup_extra, agrovino_pending_visitor_name: used temporarily during sign-up, until the user’s email address is confirmed.
  • agrovino_favorites: stores the experiences the user has chosen as favourites, so that the feature they asked for is available.
  • agrovino_exp_draft: temporarily stores the draft experience a Provider is filling in on their dashboard, so that it is not lost before it is saved.

b) Analytics cookies and technologies: used to collect information about how visitors use the platform, in order to understand its traffic and use and to improve how it works and what it offers.

For this purpose AgroVino uses Google Analytics. It is activated only if the user has first given consent through the platform’s cookie settings. Until consent is given, the Google Analytics script is not loaded.

At the time of the last update of this Policy, Google Analytics uses the following cookies:

  • _ga: used to distinguish visitors; lasts up to two (2) years.
  • _ga_VZ850KKPBY: used to keep information about the state of the session; lasts up to two (2) years.

For statistical measurement, the agrovino_viewed_experiences technology is also used. It stores the identifier of the experience viewed and the date of the view, so that the same view is not counted more than once on the same day. It does not store the user’s IP address and is activated only after the user has consented to analytics technologies.

AgroVino does not use cookies or similar technologies for targeted advertising.

3. Consent and managing your choices

On the user’s first visit to the platform, they can choose whether to accept optional cookies and similar technologies through the consent banner.

Strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies, where used, are activated without prior consent only to the extent needed to provide the service and for the platform to work correctly and securely.

Analytics cookies and technologies, including Google Analytics and agrovino_viewed_experiences, are not activated before the user has given consent.

The user can change or withdraw their consent at any time through the cookie settings available on the platform. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of the use of those technologies based on consent before it was withdrawn.

The user’s choice about optional cookies and related technologies is recorded together with the time it was made, so that it can be applied and, where required, so that the consent given can be demonstrated.

4. Third-party services and analytics

For statistical analysis of the platform’s traffic and use, AgroVino uses the Google Analytics service, provided by Google.

Google Analytics is used only after the user has consented to analytics cookies and technologies. If the user does not consent, the script is not loaded and its cookies are not placed on their device.

The service may collect information about the use of the platform, such as the pages the user visits, the time and length of the visit, the type of device and browser, and other technical or statistical data about their interaction with the platform.

The processing of data through Google Analytics is also governed by Google’s terms and data protection policies. More information about how Google Analytics uses data and the related safeguards is provided by Google.

5. Changes to this Policy and contact

AgroVino may amend this Policy, in particular if the cookies or other similar technologies used on the platform change, if the way the platform works changes, or if the applicable legal and regulatory framework changes.

The Cookie Policy in force is published on the platform together with the date of its last update. If the use of optional cookies or similar technologies changes in a way that requires new consent, the user is asked again through the consent banner.

For any question about the use of cookies and similar technologies on the platform, the user can contact AgroVino at info@agro-vino.com.
