Agritourism & Wine Tourism in Arcadia
Wineries, olive groves, farms and workshops that welcome visitors, with the producer as your host.
Arcadia is the mountainous heart of the Peloponnese. On the Mantinia plateau, around 650 metres up, growers tend Moschofilero, a pink-skinned grape that makes fresh, fragrant white wines. Further west, in Gortynia, stone villages sit on the edges of gorges and the cooking follows the mountain: hand-rolled pies, trahana, chestnuts and the PDO fir honey of Mount Mainalo.

Planning a visit to Arcadia
Tripoli is about two hours' drive from Athens, and most Arcadian villages are around an hour from there. The region sits high, so winters are cold and snow is common in the mountains: check the forecast before you set off. Moschofilero is harvested late, usually from the end of September into October.
