SPARTA GOURMET: Olive Facility Visit with Olive Oil Tasting Session

Your visit will be led by a certified food chemist, who will guide you through the fascinating journey of olive oil, from the olive tree to the finished product. The experience begins with a guided walking tour of our production and bottling facilities while the factory is non-operational, offering an inside look at the modern technologies and quality control procedures used to produce premium extra virgin olive oil. You will also enjoy a brief visit to our olive grove, home to several olive tree varieties native to Greece, where you will learn about the olive tree's cultural and historical significance to the region, and the traditions of olive cultivation. Following the tour, our expert will introduce you to Sparta Gourmet and provide an educational presentation on olive oil production, quality characteristics, and the fundamentals of sensory evaluation. You will then participate in a guided tasting of three different extra virgin olive oils, learning how to identify their distinctive aromas, flavours, and characteristics, along with practical tips for appreciating and selecting high-quality olive oil. Water and fresh green apple slices will be provided to cleanse your palate between tastings, while traditional Kalamata olives and olive paste will also be available to enjoy. The experience lasts approximately 90 minutes and combines Greek olive-growing heritage, modern production technology, and scientific expertise.
